"I’d plant a verse as park to grow"

Я думаю, что слово "garden" лучше чем "park" здесь.

I also think that "garden" is more exact. The problem is that I need 1-syllable word here, and "garden" is 2-syllable. Or, maybe, it isn't? Lingvo gave me its transcription as [ga:dn]. I am not sure, does it sound more like two syllables or like one?

Я думаю, что "дойти" было бы лучше "reach" чем "grasp." Все остальное замечательно, Вы действительно захватили сущность стихотворения.

Hello Natasha,

I think you did a really good job translating this but there were some points that I was confused as to how you got that translation like the verse:

Why’d you choose to slake your thirst
Not from Eden’s clear bowl. (from the first poem)

I couldn't understand why this was a part of the poem. Overall though I really enjoyed reading your translation because they were worded so well.

Thanks for your response!

Не из райского ковша, = Not from Eden’s [clear] bowl
А из нашего = but from ours [on Earth]
напиться = slake your thirst (утолить жажду)
Захотела ты, ... = you chose (you decided, you wanted)

Word order can be really confusing in Russian!
