Who's in charge?:
Whilst I welcome that fact that early editions of Peppa Pig are been redone to show the character wearing a seatbelt in the car, couldn't help wondering about the parent who complained that their child wouldn't wear a selt belt in the car because Peppa Pig doesn't.  Surely at the age of a child likely to be watching Peppa Pig, the ( Read more... )

the parent should have more control

Just you wait til E gets a little bit older! Watch the little girl in 'Outnumbered' to see a young child's logic in action. (I'm told I was very like that little girl when I was small)

I imagine the conversation went something like this

PARENT: for goodness sake sit still while I fasten your seatbelt

CHILD: why?

PARENT: because everyone has to wear a seatbelt

CHILD: Peppa Pig doesn't wear a seatbelt

PARENT: that's because Peppa Pig is only pretend

CHILD: why doesn't Peppa Pig have a pretend seat belt?

PARENT: actually that's a very good question...I'm going to ask the TV people about that
