Observations Of The Week - w/c 11 January

Who's in charge?:
Whilst I welcome that fact that early editions of Peppa Pig are been redone to show the character wearing a seatbelt in the car, couldn't help wondering about the parent who complained that their child wouldn't wear a selt belt in the car because Peppa Pig doesn't.  Surely at the age of a child likely to be watching Peppa Pig, the parent should have more control

Food:
IMHO, Mushy Peas are just wrong in terms of colour and texture

Politics:
I find myself agreeing with Lab and Lib responses to Con's proposed tax breaks for married couples, even though I would benefit.  There are many reasons why people don't get married, even if they have kids.  Marriage is not the answer to many of society's problems

Radio:
Am enjoying the new Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Radio 2.  Probably helps that I've been listening to his drive time show since returning to work last year, but I think main reason is hearing Moira Stuart reading the news bulletins.  Didn't realise how much I'd missed her voice.  Some might consider it a career set back but you get to experience her sense of fun and her giggle is quite infectious
