Yay for your journal! It's good to write it all down and focus on what you want to do next.

Regarding your stalled costume, there is nothing wrong with a Slytherin costume. :) Some of your best friends are Slytherin's after all. Sounds like you are going great guns on the needlework also. I need to focus on some needlework as well.

Re: the weight loss thing. You and me are in the same boat. Let's make this the year of the big change! I want to get a steady exercise program going and then really change my eating habits. Let's do it!

I think there is a real value in writing things down, especially where everyone else can see it. :)

Well, the journal will be more entertaining when I fix the picture links tonight. I'm a compulsive list-maker, reminiscent of the old joke that organized people don't need lists, and disorganized people make lists and then lose them. There's little more discouraging than turning up a five-year-old list with only two or three things that can be crossed off of it. I'm counting on not being able to lose the LiveJournal, coupled with the ability to edit it endlessly. Figuring out how to organize the thing should provide an interesting learning curve, though.

I really can't object to the Slitherin-ness (Slitherinity?) of my failed Star Wars costume, as I wasn't planning on blue before. I actually was counting on using it as a dressing gown after the fact, being as the style is medievalish ( ... )

Oooo.....big brother is here. Or there rather.

I like lists. I get that from my mom I think. I have a bad tendency though to put down on a "this is what I'm going to do today" list about three months worth of projects and then am really dismayed and end up either not doing any of it or being disappointed I only checked off one thing.

Regarding the needlework. Yes, the sweetbag is a really big priority. I want it to be in Eowyn's book :) which I figure the odds are pretty good for, provided it's done before she's ready to publish. The other needlework I'm working on is collar and cuffs for a shift.

Regarding exercise, while I do enjoy dancing, I don't think it's really great exercise, as generally it's 2 minutes of dancing followed by 20 minutes of talking or teaching. :) Maybe other venues are better. I dunno. I like walking. I just need to get up regularly and do it. I'd like to try tennis again....maybe :)

Food....yeah.....I'm working on it....really. :)

Dance class is less exercise than an actual dance--dance classes you're teaching, doublely so. The last contra dance I attended was seriously aerobic--it's stand up, run through the steps, dance till you drop, get something to drink and stand up again. Living Tradition runs a monthly contra dance in El Segundo, and another in Anaheim, that I've been meaning to check out for years.
