Well done! By successfully setting up a home network, you have now advanced to system administrator, third dan. We'll make a Unix hack out of you yet! My old Linksys router has started to flake out. Its routing, firewall, and wireless functions still work, but the DHCP server refuses to provide addresses. I've converted everything over to static IP addresses. Time for me to go shopping too. By the way, here's a cartoon you might enjoy.
In the future, we will all be system administrators.
Thank you! I laughed out loud at the third dan comment and startled Mom. ^_^\\
I made sure to get her the same sort of router I have at home, so that I could hopefully answer questions if she has them by looking at my own setup. But yes, I am the sysadmin to my mom. She flies me out once opr twice a year to spend a day teaching her how to do stuff and answering questions about her computer. You'd be amazed at how many of the answers are: It was probably a fluke. Try restarting and see if the problem goes away.

Glad it sounds like you're having a good time! ♥ I look forward to seeing you whenever you get back online -- but more importantly, enjoy yourself. :D
