Political Activism

I did something I've never done before this week: I was a political activist on Tuesday night. I spent the evening working at a phone bank, calling voters to try to encourage them to vote No on Proposition 8. I spoke to seven who said they would definitely vote no, and three of those said they'd be willing to volunteer time to the No campaign. ( Read more... )

Good for you! I pray the amendment fails.

I wish I had the guts to be a political activist.

Remind me to tell you about the wedding policy conversation I had with the session last night.

Also... I'm cheap, so it won't be for a couple of weeks (surface mail); but (and don't fall off your chair) -- look for a package.

I totally support you 100%

Though I personally (and this is just a personal opinion) don't have any problem with the idea of marrying more than one person. I believe people can love more than one person at any given time, and that that love can be equally strong for both people. I don't think all humans are predisposed to monogomy, and that those who are should not force their way of life onto others. But that's just me.

I hope you win your fight! It is high time same sex marriage became acknowledged and accepted!

To be honest, I don't have a problem with polyamory either. But I think the practice of polyamory is a tricky thing, and since marriage is a permanent arrangement with property rights and power of attorney, it would be an even more complicated thing legally with more than two parties involved.

I really appreciate your support though. *hugs*
