Many of the normal creatures around were changed to something more suitable to avoid drowning. By the information given, the Animus must have skipped you over because you could adapt to the change yourself easily enough.

It's definitely possible -- and I haven't talked to any of the other wizards capable of performing the necessary magic to keep themselves safe.

[Wizards, she's a little familiar with the idea, but not much. I don't think they're very prominent in the East in the series.]
It wouldn't be as simple as being able to cast the right magic though. They said they tried to deliver properly, so I'm thinking the changes, if any, are with the people's personalities and maybe even home worlds in mind. Would you prefer to have changed, or have things this way?
