Market

I haven't been writing about the market lately - but I should! It's full swing of summer and there is EVERYTHING pretty much! Today I bought tomatoes for making sauce with - my first non-jam/preserves canning experience! I don't really know how many pounds I got. At least 10 for about $22. Now I feel even worse that I didn't get there today. :)

I'm definitely going Friday. It's been over a week since I've been to the market. And that's TOO LONG! I need FRUIT! :)

I have never tried using ginseng in my stir-fry before. How does the fresh stuff taste? I have tried tea before (both the arizona sugar water type and from-chinatown brew yourself type) and have found it always had kind of an old wood flavor.

It *is* woodier - but has a nice warmth that is reminiscent of ginger without ginger's "pow".

Slander! Pure Slander! I love the Union Sq Greenmarket. I used to work in the park and got to do most of my shopping there. I made friends with some of the supliers and was super pleased to know, because I had to be there early for work, that I would never get shut out on the fresh eggs!

In fact, my favorite thing about working in Union Square Park (aside from having a real planting budget) was access to the Greenmarket.
