I've still got two request spots left on my kinky_fantasy Prompt Me! post, if anyone wants them.

I've been hanging with the tykes all weekend, helping them get homework done. I feel bad--I said I'd be at Pirate Fest--but I really feel like family should come first, since the DadRents aren't home to make them do work, and Wen's getting worn out and has things ( Read more... )

I have two novellas that I want to submit to LT3. One is half finished and entirely outlined. The other is needs tweaks and a thorough revision of the last three or four chapters.

I don't want to submit something that isn't already in the best shape I can make it, but I also know I'm a perfectionist, and that I have a hard time going back to completed stories without a reason.

The LT3 submission guidelines say you accept unfinished works, though they will not go up on LT3 until their completion.

What is an acceptable amount of time until completion for you guys? How unpolished a draft are you willing to look at? And how much do you work with your writers to get drafts into acceptable shape for LT3?

...And should I send this to the Editor address rather than asking it here?

ROFL of course the moment I consider submitting incomplete/not-final-draft-yet novellas for consideration, in class two different writers (teacher, and guest speaker--who is also a local magazine editor) state quite adamantly that one should never send out anything that is less than the best you can make it.

Which is generally how I think, but LT3 thoroughly excites me, and I was getting impatient to submit to you guys.

(...That was not meant to be as kinky as it sounds. :P)

In conclusion, thanks for answering my questions. I'll hold off on submitting stuff until it's as good as I can make it, though.

Unless, of course, the deadline sneaks up on me for the Bad Moon Rising Anthology. "Love and Wrath" probably won't be in final draft form by then, and I'm not positive it's in line with what you're seeking, but I could be wrong, so I'll query to check.
