Some of this was X-posted to phoenix_quills, but I wanted to know more about the people my friends adore. So here goes...

Last year, I read Carolyn See's book Making A Literary Life: Advice for Writers and Other Dreamers. One thing that really stuck with me is her advocating the writing of what she calls "charming notes

I am behind on my lj but I see that no one has commented on this, so I thought I would.

Mine are pretty much all authors, but I would write to:
Janet Evanovich, Meg Cabot, Kristin Cashore, Suzanne Collins, Laurie Halse Anderson, Neil Gaiman.

And then to Nancy Pearl, for being an awesome librarian who is on NPR and her own shushing action doll.

I've never heard of Nancy Pearl. Where does she work?
