That comment page redesign wouldn't happen to be this monstrosity would it? Because if it is, no thanks.

No one wants these comment changes. No one.

Listen to your users.

Listen to the people who give you money.

Don't do it.

LJ didn't listen to users when people didn't want the crossposting to FB and Twitter. Complaints upon complaints got us nowhere.

LJ's attitude is something like this cartoon:

**snickers**

It's funny, because it's true... -_-;

(Ever wonder if they have a filter than only allows them to see 'good' comments, and any complaints are dumped immediately to the trash? ¬_¬)

I think you have a good point. It's selective listening :) All negative words are discarded into the place where bad comments go.

I like your sense of humor.

Neat. I hope we get information about the comment page changes soon, though. :( I'm often on very, very slow internet (dialup and tethering), and I had a sock journal opt in to the new comment pages by joining the russian beta community. I couldn't get it or my icons to load at all.

Some of my friends have already let their paid accounts return to basic after all of the DDOS problems.

I'm sorry you will be having such difficulty using your journals -- ask LJ if they care.

Can we stop redesigning and adding new things and make sure to fix the old things that are currently broken? Because as far as I've seen of the new comment page design, it is absolutely hideous and the notion of getting rid of subject lines is ridiculous since people actually DO use them.

By the way, is that new hideous design even useful for lov-vision and/or blind users? You know, some people use screenreaders to access LJ and from what it looks like, I assume it's not.

Woah, woah, woah - what kind of idiot would think we should get rid of subject headers? Oh, hang on... we're on LJ, aren't we? The staff here has no actual concept of how people use their product...

The idiot somebody linked up there. He says it's because "people don't use it". SO LEAVE IT. If they don't use it or want it, leaving it there doesn't hurt them any. Taking it away will hurt people who DO use it. Like me.

Well, exactly. At sherlockbbc we use it to distinguish between threads in a weekly fandom activity post (meet-ups, etc.). I don't follow the kinkmemes, but they're essential over there, and they will be essential in many other places. Organising fic exchanges or challenges generally. Probably the charity auction communities.

JFC. The only reason I still use this site is because I run a community which exists on here. Otherwise, I'd be gone altogether.

What everyone else said- I'd rather that my comment pages work instead of contests or banners that charge every month. :/ If I knew LJ would go downhill like this, I would have never paid for a permanent account.

Exactly this. Stop fixing things that aren't broken, and do some bug fixing instead.

Aaaaand this is why I let my paid account lapse years ago and only keep the free one to communicate with people here. Dreamwidth gets my money now.
