Er... great idea with the public search and all, but is it opt-out-able?

I keep my entries public because I like my non-LJ friends to read them, but would feel a bit edgy if they were easily searchable by anyone.

I know that by keeping my entries public, I leave myself open to search, but I opted out of being Google-spidered for a reason.

Is that noted officially somewhere? Or is this your assumption?

I'm finding things I know exist on LJ by using the search engine which I do not find with a google search, so I am not so sure the same exclusion applies.

Uh. Anyone can comment on lj_releases posts if you have a registered/validated email address. It's just anon comments that are disabled.

It's quite possible that I've not understood correctly but what does "Membership of this community is closed" and "Posting Access: Select Members" mean in combination?

I presumed that meant that the membership was closed and that only some of the members could comment... however I am not in the best of health and frequently have the dumb these days.
