I wish I could say Happy Birthday, but... W.T.F. is this - [ 1] [ 2]?

Your profile says you're in Singapore and MediaCorp is responsible for advertising from there. Looks like the brand name in the bottom right corner of that is Mocca, which you can read about here.

Question: are you seeing this while logged in or is this on the homepage for you only while logged out? You're a permanent member, so you shouldn't have to see this stuff if you're logged in. Oh dear. You are logged in, as your screenshot shows. Well, looks like no_lj_ads gets another entry far quicker than I anticipated.

Yes, I am logged in - hence, my utter shock.

I guess LJ is just on a mission to make me leave. *shrugs* And it is doing a very good job at it. Thanks, LJ.

If you're interested in investigating further (I know that it can feel kind of pointless if you don't intend to use LJ anymore), I suggest opening a Support request to get an official answer, and I'd love to know what it is if you decide to go that route. If they don't take it away after it's pointed out like that, this will mark the first time they haven't neutered the advertising on the home page for paid users (they've made these kinds of mistakes before), and it's another ad creep landmark.

I will definitely be writing to LiveJournal about this (I guess that after eight years, I owe it to them) - but I do not have the time presently, and I am guessing that wording this little "feedback" will take up a lot of thought and energy. So, it's got to wait until mid-week, at least.

Whether they take it away or not no longer matters.

That should not be happening - Paid users shouldn't see that module. We'll try to fix that asap, but will likely have it fixed or disabled by Monday. I'm sorry about that!
