Getting that image online was like a Rube-Goldberg machine.

Oho, victory is mine! I have successfully changed the header on an Expressive layout. Thank you thank you, s2expressive! This is one of my favorite images of Death period -- Sandman-only fans may not recognize it, as it's from Lucifer #25 (I'm guessing -- too lazy to count out the issues in the trade). I'll have to spice up the left side a little, but I'm sure ( Read more... )

Loud and shameless gives me ample leeway to be bemused and amused. And of course, you must remember to think of your poor, starving inner child.

*looking at Lucifer on Wikipedia* Could I borrow some Sandman? This looks good. I'll loan ya the first book of Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones, and add to your massive reading list. :-D

For only pennies a day!

And ha. Yes, you can borrow some Sandman. It's only required reading for the human race. How many would you like at a time?

Oh, that's a dangerous question. If I get hooked on reading something, I'll likely be up half the night reading it, no matter what's on the following day. How about a few, for the time being, then more later if I decide that I like it? But then again, I like dark and trippy settings, so odds are good that I'll be hooked.

In which case, be glad my Y: The Last Mans are in Pittsburgh.

Aight. I know which four to start you off with. And that's all I'll say.

Header - HOT. One of these days I'll get around to picking up Sandman. I'm sad to hear your poor opinion of the new 1602, though -- conceptually, I still think that series is one of the coolest things ever. It hits my secret jones for historical fiction, AUs, and aspiring comic-book geekiness all at once.

(Should that be joneses? It doesn't look right when I make up words.)

yuletide is also my favorite thing ever, as a fic reader. Just last night I re-read some favorite Madeleine L'Engle-verse stories that came out of Yuletide a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I'm far, far too intimidated by everyone else's awesome writing skillz to sign up -- I don't think I could ever to most of these fandoms justice. You should totally do it! Think of the Wallace & Gromit fic you could unleash on the world. :)

Conceptually, yes! Why they can't put the series in the hands of the people from, say, 1602ficathon, I have no idea.

(Jonesii, maybe? Like homunculi?)

*squirms* I know I'm going to give in. But I guess I at least have to put up a modicum of nominal struggle first to be able to give in with some dignity.

...and damn, that is a lot of modifiers and clauses and things right there!

*files away your lack of Sandman-ness for a rainy day...innocently.* By the way, I'm still of the opinion that you would write a kick-ass fic for any ficathon you'd like. I am staunch, in fact!

Ficathon writers would clearly kick all kinds of ass if they were in charge.

(But then I want to pronounce it "joan-ESS-ee," like it's Italian. Which is even weirder. Oh, my brain.)

Hee, modifiers. Thanks muchly for the compliment, but I feel much better at fixing up other people's writing than actually making my own. I've come very close to writing fic, though. Especially when I started thinking about the fandoms I could request for Yuletide. Freaks and Geeks!

Thanks! And yeah, not that the LJ ones aren't cute, but, to quote Imogen Heap, it's just being free. :-D

Oh man, yuletide will destroy me, I am sure of it. But...when else will I ever get the chance to request Golden Girls fic?

I dread the moment when I start looking through the fandoms. Because it will certainly be mutually assured destruction.

And now I need to look for a nice picture to make a header out of so I can change my layout, too...
