An expanded version of what was happening on Twitter last night

May 30, 2011 11:38

Yesterday my parents wanted to watch a movie. I was in the mood for Shakespeare, but since the library was closed and the local Blockbuster is a cultural wasteland, we were stuck with the DVDs my parents had picked out before I came. It turns out that Letters from Juliet is basically the most forcefully charmless movie I've ever seen, which is very ( Read more... )

Bwahahaha, success! (I mean, Hiddleston aside, it really is a gorgeously filmed series, and it would be worth it for that alone too.)

Oh, my GOD, the handporn. The trees! The curls! The close-ups! I don't know if I'm old enough to be looking at this post! I think I need an adult.

I tried to listen to the Cyrano de Bergerac audio play, but let's face it, I'm going to need to be made of stronger stuff to survive a concentrated dose of aural Hiddleston. (Hahaha, rawles clipped a portion to share and I managed to listen to the first line, which was Hiddleston breathing heavily and passionately avowing, "I love you," and then I had some sort of minor stroke and closed every tab and every window and every program and then my computer, too. GET THEE HENCE, DEMON.)

I FEEL YOU. I really want to get myself an iPod, but I don't know how I could handle a whole YA fantasy about the French Revolution with him doing all the, you know, everything. It would be so bad to listen to on the train. Movie theaters, or on my couch, BAD ENOUGH.

Oh maaaaaaan, I approve of this picspam SO HARD. I just started Wallander's second season and it is a gorgeous series but I must say, a lot of my time has been spent staring at Tom Hiddleston in the backgrounds of scenes, folding into chairs and pulling annoyed faces and having hands. I CAN'T HELP IT HE'S JUST SO PRETTY. *cries*

folding into chairs and pulling annoyed faces and having hands.

This! This is everything that is magnificent about Magnus Martinsson!

(I may wind up watching the third episode when I get home from the airport. It's never too late at night for murder mysteries!)

I really liked Miss Austen Regrets! I'd forgotten he was in it, though; I don't think I knew who he was at the time.

It seems to be a tough one to find! Amazon only appears to sell it bundled with a miniseries of Sense and Sensibility. Not that I have a problem with more S&S. :)

I think that's because it was only released here as a part of PBS' Masterpiece Theatre "Jane Austen season." (That's how I saw it, anyway.) Still, the actress playing Elinor in the recent S&S, Hattie Morahan, is quite good. And Dan Stevens is in it, if you're a Downton Abbey fan.
