I particularly like that the "overlay" is just done by someone holding a photo at the correct angle and location (more or less) rather than by using Photoshop. If anything, it adds to the eeriness.

I totally want to do the overlay thing. Oh yes. Amazing idea.

I know, right? Argh, if only I could find actual old family photos from my family! I have no idea who has them or where they are.

Oh duh, I wasn't even thinking of family photos in my case, though I have a couple from my own childhood that I know I could totally overlay. But I have a collection of postcards of vintage New York, so naturally I'd want to try those out for size.

Oooo, good plan. Also, much less fraught in the event of something happening to said images!

If you're interested in the How to Make Webcomics book, you should know those same guys do a podcast-my favourite ever podcast OF ALL TIME-called Webcomics Weekly. Another fantastic comics podcast that focuses a bit more on long-form comics is Art & Story, and I heartily recommend it.

Really! Oh gosh, thank you! That I would never have found out on my own -- I'm not much of a podcasts person, but I will definitely look into these. \o/
