I love the idea of Laura and Kara developing something post-NC. I love Kara sort of opening up, and at the same time, sort of deflecting, so that Laura knows what happened, but doesn't know, can only guess, at Kara's emotional reaction to all of it.

And if you ever decide to revisit, a nice coda might be a paragraph or two of Laura's internal dialogue when she learns Kara's returned from the dead, and when she actually sees her again for the first time. How might her reaction be different from canon? Or would it be the same, only harsher because she's not only fighting Lee's and Bill's emotions, but her own as well?

Neither Laura nor Kara are great at opening up, so it's interesting to see them both try.

Ooh, yeah, the return. I'll add these questions to the prompt doc and see if the muse comes up with anything.

Really interesting exploration of the Laura-Kara relationship. They certainly did have a fair amount of shared experiences and relationships to discuss.

The answers are so Kara! The scene at the end
between Laura and Bill after Kara died, that's
the scene that needed to be in the canon
episode! I love it!

I love both the exchanges between Kara and Laura and the window you gave us into Bill and Laura's relationship at that time. It's totally like them to deny themselves and each other a full, acknowledged relationship but express their love and support through increasingly intimate touching!

I would have loved to see this for Kara after NC. Laura knowing when to talk and when to just let Kara sit...and the crew getting out of Laura's way because they know where she's going and why...
You do a great broken!Bill :-) I really like them having this bond before more intimacy.

Thanks for such kind words. I've always wanted more interaction between Kara and Laura post-Kobol. And I've had this working in my prompts doc for a while. I was glad to finally get to it. My Kara, Laura and Kara/Laura feels of late were helpful for that. :P

Broken!Bill is easier to write than Broken!Laura. I think because it's so visual and physical. There are tears and broken things and tables tossed, and paint. Broken!Laura is so internal, she cries in the privacy of her shower, and even she doesn't know just how hard or how much she's cried. It was interesting to get both forms of grief in one fic.

I love developing their bond, or strengthening it.
