Brian had forgotten just how good it felt to stand under near scalding spray from a showerhead for several minutes. The water pressure wasn't anywhere near that in the loft, or the house in West Virginia, but it was still good. Thinking about five people in a three bedroom house had him longing for his eight bedroom minimansion (as Justin had called it) back home. He'd make due. Countless nights sleeping on Debbie's couch as a teen had taught him to make any situation comfortable

On his way out, Noah stopped in the hall closet to get his satchel and, like Henry insisted, checked his gun to see that it was still properly loaded. Noah turned around to see Brian looking a bit better, his hair still a little wet.
"So....going anywhere special?" Brian asked.
Noah hadn't decided on a destination yet. He'd just needed to move his legs and try to ignore Henry for a while, but if Brian was interested in coming along, Noah figured he'd just pick somewhere. "Oh, there's a little park just down the block with a pond. It's kind of pretty- there are flower gardens."

"Want some company?" Brian wasn't usually one for that kind of thing but he didn't want Noah to go out alone. He also didn't want to be left alone in the house. Brian had seen Noah checking the gun and he was very uncomfortable around it, but he kept his mouth shut because he'd rather be uncomfortable than possibly dead. The gun might come in handy, as long as he didn't have to touch it.
"Sure, company's good," Noah replied with a shrug and a smile because having someone else to talk to would be an even better distraction than the walk alone. He pulled the door open and gestured for Brian to go first. As they walked down the path, Noah dusted off his small talk. "So, what do you do for a living?"
