Despite not getting a return call, Joan headed down the hall in her pajamas and knocked once on the door before peeking her head inside.

"Hey, you. You busy?"

Liir looked up almost like a squirrel examining a nut (or a newsbrief, considering where they were) and shook his head.

"Well, I'm doing something, but it's nothing that can't be set aside."

"Did you, uh, get my message?" Joan asked.

He did a quick look at his phone, shook his head, and pursed his lips curiously.
