Hey, I'm finally submitting a discussion topic! :-P I don't know if I make any sense with my thoughts. I tend to be very scattered in my thinking. Anyway, check behind the cut (created in case of spoilers) and let me hear your thoughts!

I often wondered what Tidus was doing while he disappeared for the 2 years. Then I seen bravo and realized that he was in fact a woman and had his own show. I knew he was a dike the whole time with his hair layered like a woman.

Interesting topic. I don't agree with your opinion though :D

Maybe my view is a bit skewed because I went into this game for the sole purpose of getting him back. I've never played the game in such a way to not bother with him (all that X button mashing). Tidus is the driving force behind Yunas strength. I don't want to take anything away from her. She has suffered, struggled and lost so much. I don't see how her want to get Tidus back is derogatory of any of this though. All that she managed to do is through her own strength. She took a stand and decided that she didn't want to lose anyone anymore.

I love Yunas speech at the end of the game. I will quote it.

Your plan is awful. Think about it. It’s no different than what we did ( ... )

Haha I wrote a very similar response like...hours ago, but then had to go to class before I could proofread it so you beat me to posting! Mine is a bit different...but essentially the same thing, and I used the same quote because it is amazing and wonderful and so Yuna :)

Anyhow, my response was so long I just made a post in my fanstuff journal, so if you or anyone is interested...that link is here :)

Hmm, I'm not sure whether I agree with this or not, but I have to point out that it is not only Yuna that has to work for Tidus, you as the player, also have to work for it. Getting Tidus back is one of the most difficult things in that game(Angra Mainyu was the longest battle I've ever had in any FF game, and lets not talk about Via Infinito), and if you don't do it right you don't get him back! I think that makes it not negating FFX's ending at all.

I thought it very much suited the game for Yuna to get Tidus back. All throughout the game you [the Gullwings, mainly Yuna] have to help everyone out (unless you tell the rest of the population of Spira to eff off, don't do the mini-games, don't bother with Clasko, O'akka, ect. and even then you have to help a good precentage of the people at large anyways**). Everyone gets what THEY want (even Shuyin gets what he wants, come on); Yuna getting Tidus back is NOT serving everyone else's needs for once and focuses on herself instead and damn it she wants Tidus and she doesn't care if he's real or not or tissue used by the Fayth, she wants him and after saving the world she damn well wants him NOW ( ... )
