So I’m assuming that Rude feels as though Yazoo’s comment doesn’t imply to him because he knows that his boss has Jenova, but Reno didn’t.

Yazoo's line there always confused me, but I think this is a great explanation that I would never have thought of. Great theory!

I'm happy to hear my explanation cleared things up for you. But it really is one of the many lines that totally confused me, lol. So I felt it was needed to bring up some of these things and discuss them. :)

Here is another, excellent question... why did Rufus decide to play games with Kadaj by keeping the box with him, and then dramatically throwing it over the edge? If he'd intended for Tseng and Elena to catch it with the nets, then... why? You already have it, why reveal that and then just give it back to your allies? If he'd intended for them to catch KADAJ with the net... well, Kadaj &co tortured and nearly killed those two. You really want to leave the two of them, nets holding Jenova, to deal with the SHM? I'm mostly confused what the point of that scene was in the first place.

As far as Rude knowing that Rufus had Jenova... Hmm. It could either be that, or Rude just being quieter and avoiding confronation. Looking away when Reno looked at him was rather like him looking away and clearing his throat when Cloud felt sorry for him.

That is a very good question, and I needed a while to think of an answer, lol. I'm guessing that Rufus assumed that "this is where it all ends" for Kadaj, since Cloud was on his way to kill the SHM. So I guess Rufus figured that since Kadaj was about to meet his end, he might as well show him where Jenova was the whole time, making Kadaj look totally stupid, lol. Plus he had to figure out a way to stop Kadaj from calling out another summon. :)

Of course Rufus' assumption was wrong, and this led to a brief showdown between the two. I'm not sure if they ever wanted to catch Kadaj in the nets, never looked at it like that. I guess the wanted to just capture the box, then Tseng or Elena retrieve it while Rufus fights Kadaj on the 13th floor. So they would have probably picked Rufus up before he ran out of ammo or his Stigma kicks in. But there really is no right or wrong answer, that scene is still a bit weird, but cool. :D

Here is another interesting question. What if Rufus never revealed Jenova to Kadaj and everything still worked out for the best. What in the world would Rufus do with her remains? Synthesize the cells into something useful? It makes me wonder, lol.

I do agree with most of that - I've always been certain that Rufus was aiming at some kind of pipe above Kadaj - seeing as though the explosion happened after Rufus had shot at it ( ... )

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Because I played the scene in slow motion and I see the bullets hitting something circular above Kadaj. So I figured that's what caused the explosion ( ... )

Yeah.. I think Rufus did wait till Cloud had defeated Bahamut.. because if you think about the scenes with Rufus and Kadaj - they should be continous - I mean Kadaj would hardly wait till Cloud was done to attack Rufus - it all happened in one go - I think they just cut it differently for the movies sake. Its either that or just *as* Cloud defeated Bahamut - as Cloud lands just after Rufus reveals himself ( ... )
