The Shin-Ra Company’s Reconstruction

Jul 01, 2006 17:13

Good day all, I decided to make another deep Rufus Shinra entry regarding the reconstruction of the Shin-Ra Company. Don’t worry, this entry is not based on his heath issues, we already got that off our chests, lol. It’s kind of long, but I do hope you give it a read for me. I spent the past few hours typing it up, and I’m quite proud of it. You’ll ( Read more... )

I agree and thought pretty much as you do, however..
Rufus owns the Golden Saucer, and other small organizations throughout the game,
I'm PRETTY sure that DIO owns the Gold Saucer with alliance to Shin-Ra, and considering this has come up before, I'm going to find out once and for all

and if I'm wrong I'm gonna hide my head in shame for making such a fuss about it XD

I'm glad you agreed with most of it. :)

As for the Golden Saucer thing, I always assumed that Dio was a mere manager and just another pawn for Shin-Ra. Clicking on the main sign of the Golden Saucer mentions the Shin-Ra Company, but you could be right though.

But at least everything else I mentioned sounds pretty accurate. ;)

Yeah I'm pretty certain Shinra owns the Gold Saucer - if you remember Dio was the manager not the owner - and if you click the sign at the entrance - it has a welcome message from - Shinra. Thats the conclusion I came to - but if you find anything different then let me know coz I'll be interested!

Yay more Rufus write-ups - excellent. I think you already know that I'm gonna agree with all that - we both agree that Rufus must still have power and that Shinra is still running etc... but I liked your idea that people would know that Rufus is alive - I haven't seen that touched on before. But it is true - I did wonder how Loz would know that Shinra made the statue if it wasn't common knowledge (it may well say on the memorial) - and if its common knowledge then people must know that Shinra is still around - and therefore Rufus ( ... )

I'm glad you read and liked it. :D

Yeah I noticed topics such as the people knowing of Rufus' survival is rarely, if not ever discussed. I must have looked for 30 minutes for other communities and websites that mention it, but it looks were they only ones (or one of the only ones) who actually made and entry about it. That's a point I never thought of, about how Loz would know, that’s a great one. I'm just surprised, and happy that so many people agreed with me. :)

Tell me about it. It seems that the idea of the Turks/Rufus keeping in touch with Tiffa is quite popular. I mean, I would find it hard to ask for help from former enemies after not speaking to them for 2 straight years. That conversation went to smooth/casual, so yeah, I agree with you about them keeping in touch.

I love these kinds of entries and talks. :D

Actually I was thinking after I posted that last night - that really - only we - the gamers were led to believe that Rufus was dead from the cliffhanger in FF7 - no-one in the FF7 world would have seen what we did - so why would they think what we did? Whew - brings back memories when for like 8 years or whatever I actually did think Rufus was dead - I nearly fainted with pure joy and excitement when I saw the AC trailer "OMFG THATS RUFUS YES HES ALIVE *fangirlish scream*" - one of my happiest days ^^

That's a good point you brought up. Cloud and his gang didn't see the assault on the Shin-Ra tower, did they? I know they saw what happened to Diamond Weapon, but I assume that Midgar was to far away to see what the blasts actually struck. When Cloud encounters the Turks under Midgar, it doesn't look like they knew their boss was a bit injured, just that the company was in turmoil at the time. But those who might have seen the tower being hit couldn't have been 100% sure if anybody was inside. So I'd imagine that maybe there were no rumors about Rufus' death, and if they were, then they were indeed false. I assume that Cloud thought "Shinra is finished" because there was nobody else to take over at the time. So it wasn't really matter of the Company was dead, there was nobody to take Rufus' place while he was unconscious.

So yeah...I do see your point, and I'm glad you brought that up. :)

Haha. Man, Nomura loves to leave it up to the fans to draw their own conclusions. Good thing he put helpful hints in the movie! XD Anyway, I applaud you on this. It was a nice read and I agree with pretty much everything you said. ^_^
