Favorite Final Fantasy Quote

Can any of you recall a Final Fantasy quote that you like? If so, which one? Despite the fact that I love the comic relief kind of quotes I consider my favorite kind to be the really deep ones. I noticed that as a Final Fantasy game progresses, the quotes often tend to get deeper and deeper, with a pinch of comedy within them. I’m sure when Cloud ( Read more... )

"You DO KNOW... what kind of PLACE... this is?" - Cloud to Aeris while trying to explain what kind of place Don Coreno's Mansion is *really* is. Yeah the line it self may be plain but the who stressing and the hidden meaning makes it hilarious to me, and the fact that Aeris flat out ignored what he was implying and proceeded to drag him all over Wall Market to get the 'stuff' to get pass the guards.

Lol, oh yes, that was pretty funny. I'm sure Cloud felt small when Aeris just ignored his warning. What's ironic is that Cloud ended up dressing as a girl, just to get information. That must have been the funniest thing ever. :P

That's an interesting name, "Vivi." I just can not wait to play FF9. I can only imagine what I am missing.

It's quite an excellent game ^_^ And the Chocobo Hot & Cold game and the Stellazio coins are such fun side quests, and Tetra Master :D

Haha I am such a quote geek! But...I'll try and narrow it down to just a few :p

I think my #1 favorite though would have to be
Don't say it isn't worth it...because it is. -Yuna, FFX; It this very simple, very short statement, but it's so positive and optimistic and I think if you had to pick one defining statement of Yuna's that would be it. And the way she delivers it always makes me want to cry because there are just so many emotions in just a few words...and it also just means a lot to me because it's an attitude towards life that I try and carry as well :)

Others I really love...

I know why I'm fighting. I'm fighting to save the planet, and that's
that. But besides that, There's something personal too... A very personal
memory that I have. What about you all? I want all of you to find that
something within yourselves. If you don't find it, then that's okay too. You
can't fight without a reason, right? So, I won't hold it against you if you
don't come back. -Cloud, FFVII

Life is but a passing dream, but the death that ( ... )

How did I forget Cloud's end of the game speech? *headdesk.* That was such a powerful message. I think watching Shinra making speeches rubbed off on Cloud, lol. I'll be honest; I thought at least 1 person was not going to return. He did give them all the chance to walk away there and then. But they all came back, which was good to see. :)

I love Seymour's quotes as well. I think he was the best Final Fantasy Villain. he was so dark, yet calm. I loved when he said "You all are in a rush to die, so I will end you're lives...along with your meaningless existence!" That was so deep, lol.

Actually, Cloud's speech also reminds me of Squall's in disc 2 during the Garden War.

Yeah it kind of reminds me of that in a way as well, but Squall's is more, to me at least, promoting group unity whereas Cloud's is focused on believing in what you are doing. Which I guess though is one of the bigger differences in SeeD and Avalanche, and especially in Cloud and Squall. SeeDs do what they are told and don't ask questions, and their focus was on operating as a group, whereas Avalanche was a rebel group fighting the government the entire way, with a ragtag group of people from every background imaginable fighting for personal reasons.

Not that SeeDs weren't noble...and Squall's group ended up breaking away and kind of doing what they thought was right even if it was against their creed. I like Squall's speech. But to me Cloud's was more personal :)

For me, it's the amusing quotes that stand out most ^^ I think in FF8 there were a lot of things Squall said [in his head] that made me grin, like:

"I dreamt I was a moron." and "I'm not having anyone talk about me in past tense!"

There were also a lot in FFIX like this:

Zidane: Hi. Have you seen a strange-looking guy here? He goes by the name of Kuja...
Dogherder: Ye're strange-lookin'
Zidane: No..you see, uh, he looks really sinister, and uh ..
Dogherder: Ye're sinister-lookin'

I guess the reason those stand out for me, is because the FF games are usually very deep and about 75% of the time, carry a serious theme. The funny moments are like the nice instances of comic relief when we get a break from all the drama :]

I have to agree, I like that line of Squall's.

(I had a dream, too. It wasn't nice though...)

(I dreamt I was a moron...)

Haha I love Squall's "I dreamt I was a moron" line :p My friend and I always quote that to each other whenever we have weird dreams :)

When I replayed the game after Advent Children came out when Squall said "I'm not having anyone talk about me in past tense!" I really wanted him to add "I will never be a memory!"

Amusing quotes were pretty cool, indeed.

LOL, I totally overlooked that line! "I dreamt I was a moron." It was so plain, yet funny. Thanks for brining that one up that quote was great. As for Squall's "past tense" quote, part of me never got that one. It's like he would prefer to be forgotten all together, then to be spoken about in past tense. That is pretty deep, lol. :P

Ooooh there's lots, I like the one in FFX, although I can't remember the exact line, but Yuna says she will defeat Sin, and she will "do it without...false hope" I thought that was pretty kool. I like in Advent Children:
Cloud: I think I want to be forgiven. Yeah, I want to be forgiven
Aerith: By who?

and I like the bit at the end of FFX where Tidus sits down and starts crying and says "I hate you dad"

I>My father... I loved him. So I... I will live with my sorrow, I will
live my own life! I will defeat sorrow, in his place. I will stand my ground
and be strong. I don't know when it will be but someday, I will conquer it. And
I will do it without...false hope.
That one? *sighs* I think just about every time Yuna is being herself instead of being fake cheerful can be considered one of my favorite lines.

I thought about adding that bit with Tidus...bah the whole end of that game just makes me sob. I really could quote just about anything in that entire script as one of my favorite quotes and not think twice about it. :)

Welcome back, friend. It's good to see that you are happy again. That's great. :)

As for Yuna, she did have some pretty deep lines. The way she always spoke about hope really made the game deep, and worth playing. I do remember that line though. She must have been the only character in Final Fantasy to make me cry, lol.

Cloud was cool in Advent Children. My favorite line in Advent Children was when Rufus gave his speech about the Lifestream. Oh and when he said "Our ultimate goal is the reconstruction of the world...Cloud."
