Is there such thing as the perfect Final Fantasy team? If so what is it made of? I'm sure I know what most of you are thinking right now, there is no such thing as the perfect team. Well one thing all Final Fantasies share the three basic components of a good or "perfect" team. These are brute force/strength, magic, and summons. Below I have posted

So I would have to go for one physical party member, one magic (both attack and heal, like a red mage), and one summon (with enemy skills as a back up, i.e. blue magic.).
As for which character in the various games, well.... it's kinda hard to say... but to keep it generalized, I like a little of everything ^^;

So you like a bit of everything, that's pretty interesting. I suppose it would strange for a team to focus on 1 theme. Good call. ;)

In FF7 I lean strongly towards Magic and am a total materia whore. Brute strength is always helpful though, because if you don't have that you're going to come out badly sooner or later.
Summons in FF7 also have a lot of favour with me because they are just that damn good in terms of battle.
FF8 is a different kettle of fish, I tend to rely on brute strength over everything else because I am hording magic for stat-junctioning and I don't think summoning is all that helpful. IF the team has 9999HP then their hits are going to do far greater damage than any of the GFs do in summoning. GFs are really there to junction magic and allow access to various commands in my games.

I was a huge fan of materia in Final Fantasy 7, as well. That game practically forces you to rely on it, lol.
I wasn't to attached to the summons in FF7, but they were still pretty awesome. I loved Bahamut Zero, he was my favorite. ;)
That was the GF's main purpose, just to help you unlock all the abilities for your characters. That GF Eden is so powerful, he can break the damage, even without boost. After I unlocked everything I needed from the GF's, I stopped using them all together, even though I do miss there attacks now and again.
