Thirty-Eighth rebirth [Voice]

Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.

[He laughs, softly.]

You all seem to be overreacting, in my humble opinion. It was an event, you have an excuse for the way you acted. Besides which, it's nice to let it out every once in awhile, isn't it?

Very enlightening. I'd offer to let you try it, but I think your face has suffered enough.

Wow, I haven't heard that one before.

[You're not even going to get the pleasure of getting Zuko mad, Yuca, that is how funny he finds this situation.]

Plus, your face looked worse than mine.

It did, didn't it?

[He laughs.]

It's looked worse.

But if we did something, we should still apologize and make it right.

Make it right, perhaps, but why must you apologize for something that wasn't your fault?

Because even if it was because of the Animus, you feel bad for what happened. You don't want people to be hurt by you, no matter how it happened.

No, you don't. I'm simply saying that the overabundance of apologies is... rather redundant.

[No part of this situation is funny, Yuca. At all.]

An event is no excuse for what occurred during that week. Using it as such relieves people of responsibility. No matter how they acted or whatever they were influenced by, their actions were still their own, and they should be held accountable for them.

Unless their mental states were altered at such time. You can get away with murder if you plead insanity, Lance.

[Yes, he's been watching you, he knows your name, if not little else.]

Besides which, perhaps that came out wrong. I'm simply commenting on how redundant all of this apologizing is. Why don't we all agree that everyone is sorry and put it behind us? Obsessing over something that cannot change won't do anyone any good.

[He knows yours too, Yuca. It's his past time, keeping tabs on everyone in Adstringendum. That way he can attempt to predict when someone loses their ever loving shit.]

Because not everyone is sorry, Yuca, and the guilt that those people feel is normal and necessary. There are those that won't feel apologetic for the crimes they've committed under the influence of the event or whatever else they have endured.

Then so be it. It just seems to be a waste of effort, all this regret and guilt and sadness. It's over, it's done. Besides which, there's no apology louder than not making the same mistake in the future- words have little to do with it.

I don't have anything to confess, but I could do with a cup of tea. [Actually he sounds...weary. Not Horst-like.]
