This place is just a little bit obsessed with Christianity, don't you think? Or specifically at the moment, Catholicism. Five of the seven deadly sins, following right on the tail of a flood and an ark. Catholicism, though, so concerned with doing away with any fun a person could have. Don't eat too much, don't sleep too much, and above all, don't ( Read more... )

more mastery than usual, regular entry, hubris, time lord, unaffected but amused by curse, sense of entitlement, secretly evil, curses are fun!, not cursed but might as well be, haughty

I would agree with essentially all that you said. I don't bother trying to bolster others' sense of worth by sinking to their level.

It seems to me, though, that some of these "cardinal sins" aren't very productive. Sleeping too much, eating too much, and boasting when you haven't accomplished anything are all clear ways to look foolish and get nothing done. One should be productive, not lolling around on a sofa with a bag of chips and acting entitled.

As far as I have read, we have Wrath and Lust remaining.

They might not all be productive, but I'd argue against feeling guilty if you choose to sleep an entire day. Besides, the sins are rarely that specific. Gluttony could be eating a meal that you enjoy. Sloth could be agnosticism.

And you're right. What fun those should be.

It'd get really annoying with everyone walking around talking about how awesome they are. Especially when some of them just aren't. Trust me. I went to college with drunk frat boys. I know false pride annoying.

Wrath is either tomorrow or the day after. You could exercise your right to that sin.

No disagreeing here but considering I had problems with the dummy I'm not sure what I'm going to do to the deities.

...you're not trying to get me killed are you?

Mm, good point. You could always find someone who's usually a twat and use Wrath as an excuse to practice. I'd come along for backup.

That's an interesting take on it. Get out of jail free card.

So you're seeing a pattern then to these things?

Take note, Rose: If you feel like doing something foolish here, and don't want to deal with repercussions, saying 'I was cursed' is almost always a surefire way to get out of it.

Naturally. I am a genius, after all.

But does it always work even on non curse days?

Oh you're much more than that.

You have to make sure to time it properly, of course.

Oh, stop, you'll have me blushing.
