Yuletide reveals!

I checked who my authors were as soon as they were revealed because I really wanted to know, haha. Not Like I Feint Every Time We Touch is by Aja, and VII. Lakeland is by livii (which I had kind of guessed). Very grateful to both of them, this was an awesome Yuletide :)

My main fic:

On Land and At Sea (8283 words) for binz
Hornblower - C. S. Forester ( Read more... )

yuletide, doctor who, fanfic, misc books

Haha, yeah, I know mine wasn't super anonymous. ;) so glad you liked it though! Will respond to AO3 comments when I'm back home, even this is a misery on my phone.

Loved the TTCC fic you wrote!!

Well, mostly I figured it out because you had commented on my TTCC fic, but not on your own! Which would have probably been a level of deception too far anyway, haha. And thanks!

Also, I just went back to look at Lakeland again because I wanted to say something about how much I appreciated a silly Canadian football fic written by someone who knows way more about Canada and football than I do, and I ended up just rereading half of it again. So obviously I love it a lot!!

Ha! I never thought of that. I was busy laughing to myself that there were two fics in the fandom and they both used the Argos fight song for the summary and/or title. ;)

Funny enough I don't think I used much football or Canada in this, not really! I actually did a bunch of research, which was really fun. I actually had no idea Joe Theismann had played in the CFL, and I didn't realize Flutie had been a strikebreaker. (BTW I don't know if he regrets it, but I regret it, so I wrote that in).

BTW also: this is the Hail Flutie and I won't link you to Theismann's broken leg that his limp in this story is calling out to, because it's horrific. The stuff with Vanderjagt and Manning is all true, same as Theismann not liking Ricky Williams. Now I kinda want to write another fic with actual football in it!! But since I am only just replying to this and about to reply to comments, it seems unlikely I will get to it. ;)

I knooow, that made me laugh when I saw it too. I got completely stuck for a title and decided that the fight song was appropriate, if a little clunky. I felt very vindicated when I saw your summary because clearly great minds think alike!

I used wikipedia super heavily on my re-read of your fic because my football knowledge is only slightly greater than 0, haha. I hadn't seen the Hail Flutie before, though, which is a shame because WOW. I look at that and go 'really? really?' but I guess it actually happened since there is video proof!
