Yuletide reveals!
I checked who my authors were as soon as they were revealed because I really wanted to know, haha. Not Like I Feint Every Time We Touch is by Aja, and VII. Lakeland is by livii (which I had kind of guessed). Very grateful to both of them, this was an awesome Yuletide :)
My main fic:
On Land and At Sea (8283 words) for binz
Hornblower - C. S. Forester, Adult
William Bush/Horatio Hornblower/Barbara Wellesley
Summary: Hornblower introduces his captain to his wife. (A missing chapter from the beginning of Commodore Hornblower.)
This was super last minute for me - I had to upload a finished but very rough draft for the deadline, then got aralias to do a last-minute beta for me, and edited and posted the final version on the 23rd/24th. But it did get finished, and I think it turned out pretty well :) It was a little weird to be writing sex stuff for Yuletide, but I am huge fan of binz (and shiplizard)'s kinky Hornblower fic, so as soon as I saw binz's prompts I wanted to write something along similar lines.
On the 22nd and 23rd I wrote a bunch of Madness fic (as usual), and all of those are under the cut.
Trompement (1657 words) for Cinaed
18th Century Fencers RPF, gen
Chevalier d'Eon & Chevalier de Saint-George
Summary: Joseph Bologne fences Charles d'Éon for the first time in 1985.
I took two of the most famous fencers of the 18th century and threw them into a modern fencing AU. This got long and could have been a LOT longer - I'm not sure if I did the idea justice, but it was fun to think about.
Solve for XX (545 words) for ryfkah
Gokusen (Manga), gen
Yamaguchi Kumiko
Summary: The problem with teaching girls was that Kumiko had no idea what to say to them.
Short, silly fic written pretty directly from one of ryfkah's prompts. The point of writing a bunch of last-minute fics is to get myself to do more short stuff. This year I went over the 1k Madness limit pretty often, but I did succeed with a couple things like this.

Summary: Peter, Sylvester, and Colin are determined to get into the special this time. No matter the cost.
Possibly my favorite thing I've written this year, purely because it is 80% trolling. Maybe 90%.

Summary: One stop on Penny Ngwenya's World Tour.
Basically just an excuse to write about one of my favorite characters hanging out in my city. Somebody commented that I had written 'cold' very well, which... they do say to write what you know, but I really wish I didn't know the cold of the frozen north.

Summary: Astrid grows up watching the game.
A fan perspective on the ridiculous Argos-REDBLACKS game. This was fun because I got to make up a lot of stuff about Canada, which is already my third-favorite pastime

Summary: Brutha witnesses the beginnings of the Omnian pamphlet.
This is the shortest fic I managed :) Small Gods is one of my favorite Discworld books, so it was fun to go back to it.

I hadn't heard of these guys before stumbling across AdaptationDecay's (very detailed) letter, but I was immediately charmed by NEMESES. The rl Kellar-Maskelyne rivalry was amazing.
Wood Isn't Food: Clarence BEEFTANK, the best quarterback in the NFL (587 words) for pts

Clarence BEEFTANK
Summary: After over 60 years of football, the immortal, unstoppable quarterback is still going strong.
Breaking Madden is one of my favorite things in the world right now, and making this fic/art combo was pretty much exactly what I wanted to do with my Christmas eve eve.

Harriet Vane/Peter Wimsey
Summary: Harriet is found guilty in the retrial. (An AU of Strong Poison.)
I get very nervous about writing Madness fic for people I actually know, since they tend to be written very quickly and tend to be pretty rough. But I think this turned out okay! I just really liked the dark!fic and the Strong Poison AU prompts that in x_los' letter, so I wanted to give it a shot.
The end! I'm about half-way through the archive and have been posting recs to the Yuletide bookmark collection. Driving back to grad school land tomorrow if my cold lets up a little, but I'm planning on getting through the rest of the fics after that.
