I was just thinking how Lex breaks my heart, watching the beginning of S7.

But reading this - makes me see from Clark's pov, and wow. There is so much hurt between them.

I haven't brung myself to watch S7 yet because of the heartbreaking Lex factor. But, yeah, given the right Clark perspective, the situation between him and Lex can be seen as heartbreaking on both their parts. I was always hoping they could find some way to twist the whole evil!Lex Luthor legend on its head. Like, the Lex who is he villain opposite Superman isn't the Lex that was Clark's best friend at all, but an evil clone or someone who takes on Lex's identity or something (I suppose, the way Lanning Cook did it in her fic :p)
