Wii VR Display

I saw this on Penny Arcade, so if you read the news there this won't be new, but a guy at CMU has designed some software to use a Wiimote for head-tracking in order to create a basic virtual reality display on his television. Yeah, my thought was these projects are really his pitch to be hired by Nintendo. (And what better pitch could you make?)

I am not sure how "grandma-friendly" that technology is. VR displays cause sickness in a lot of people, and it's one of those scary technologies that you're not going to get your non-game-playing family members to pick up. Nintendo didn't pick the Wiimote technology because it was the next level of immersion. They picked it because it was the next level of pick-up-and-play.
