A journal, finally.

Ok, so I finally broke down and got myself one of these online journal blog-type things myself. They're free and they're a decent way of keeping track of all those things in life you want to remember (and maybe some you don't). And as a bonus, maybe I won't have to keep convincing people I'm actually alive and kicking out here in Japan ( Read more... )

parents, journal, travel, japan, general update

Welcome to LJ. Some people post multiple times a day, some post less than once a month. Do whatever makes you happy. :)

Let's see:
     * Glad to hear your parents are doing well.
     * Hopefully your work schedule lightened up a bit since last time we talked about it.
     * Nara deer, good stuff. Pretty abundant and pretty friendly. Were there a bunch of lazy deer hanging out in the shade then too? Did any try to eat your shirt?
     * Re: Buddah's nose hole pillar: Told you. :) "holy shit, that foreigner fit! And he's bigger than I am!" Total spectacle.
     * And for the record the japanese works for me.

Yeah, my work schedule's lightened up a bit. I still get the day or two that doesn't let up until it's over, but I have no more 9's and I actually have a decent chunk of time on tuesday to plan my lessons (although I tend to get myself distracted easily).

About Nara, there were a whole bunch of deer just hanging out in the shade, and something told me it was a good idea to sit with them and have a nice chat over afternoon tea. I'll give you a picture of that once I get it from dad. None of them wanted my shirt though, for better or worse. (I'm thinking better here...)

Oh, and I've got a class that refuses to believe I fit through until I provide photographic evidence (which hopefully shouldn't be too long as dad's got that one too).

Welcome welcome. Yeah, I'm not exactly the most frequent poster either, maybe because my life is so boring right now. And yes, the Japanese works, because I can't read it (not that my inability to read it is any logical means of testing it...)
