Fandom: Spider-Man (Any universe I guess, except Ultimate Spidey)
Notes: Thank you, my lovely, endearing MJ aingeal_isilme for beta-reading it; wynter_myst for pointing out something in a cookie of this fic I gave her. And thanks to abraxan for her opinion on whether I should post this, even though she didn't read it at all. ( Read more... )

I don't know what you are talking about when you say you can't write. Seriously. O:

This is absolutely lovely. Really.

I love how you've pulled together Eddie's, Peter's and the symbiote's feelings, and then swirled them until the rights and the wrongs and the morals of the whole thing have gone out the window, which is just the way it's supposed to be. And you're so terribly spot-on when you personify the symbiote - that's exactly how I imagine it'd speak.

*loffs back* I'm glad you think they're IC. I was afraid of being OOC there with Peter and symbiote.

His mouth is dry and his throat is parched. He doesn't bother to move, not even to push the stray lock of hair that's getting into his eye.
You make his humanity so clear. You remind us that he tires, just like anyone else, that within the superhero, there is still a man.

But while Eddie's hate is simple, the symbiote's isn't
Beautiful line. I'd never thought about it in this light before, but it's so true. The symbiote's feelings for Peter are so exquisitely complicated, and you say this in a way which is beautiful in its simplicity. In its truth.

"Come on and take me. Isn't that what you've always wanted?"
*melts. all over. the line* That is what the symbiote has always wanted. This is how it should have been, if Peter had wanted it back. *melts*
It's what I've always wanted. *beams*

But when it realises Peter is offering himself willingly, dark tendrils the colour of jet unfurl and twine up his legs, wrapping around his torso and spreading itself over his lean frame, rapidly, gently, protectively. Peter doesn’t know what ( ... )

Yeek. Creepiest AU ever, in such a glorious way.

(Small nitpick: Presumably this is based on Maximum Carnage, right? In that universe, Uncle Ben never said "the phrase." But your notes say it can be set anywhere, so... Just thought I'd mention for future ref.)

Your icon makes me grin. Is that your pony?

(Thanks; I didn't read Maximum Carnage actually. Pretty much a similar universe to uh- I don't really know. As long as the Symbiote is an alien life-form and Carnage it's offspring.)

Ah, I gotcha.

Any opinions on Carnage's new offspring, Toxin?

Are you serious? Officially? Asexually? Named "Toxin"? *amused* Is Toxin like... an evolved form of symbiote that doesn't even need a host (and then hence shouldn't be called a symbiote)?

I'm only passingly familiar with the storyline you're using, but I enjoyed reading this. I like your style; you have a good knack for description.

Thank you for your encouragement and kind comment.

If I may ask- what's that in your icon?

It's my namesake, a small insectivorous bird known as a pauraque. It's in the nightjar (aka goatsucker) family, and native to Texas.
