This is so LOVELY. There's such a full history here, that we only get glimpses of, but are able to feel in a way that really impressed me. The style in which you wrote this made me feel really connected to Jared's character. I just hurt for him, and for Jensen, and for what they were going through. I think you did a good job letting us into Jensen's head, too, which is so hard to pull off from another character's POV. Just a really thoughtful, emotional read. I l-o-v-e-d it.

Thank you also for the delightful comment! I am really really happy that the characterization elements came through in the short space - I was trying to use fewer words to tell their story (because usually I use too many) so it was a fun experiment that I wasn't sure was going to work. I'm also glad that it felt balanced; I always worry that when writing in a tight POV, the other person's story doesn't get told. So it made me feel great to hear that it did for you. :)

... Jared wants to kiss him so fucking bad it hurts. Jensen wipes his eyes and looks up at Jared, shaking his head, and it must show on Jared’s face, what he wants to do, because Jensen shakes his head again, a muscle in his jaw ticking as he looks away.
So dinners are out, after that.
