I think it's amazing that you're able to put so much backstory into so few words! Even though you didn't show what this (after) is coming after, it doesn't make the fic any less emotional because you have so much between the lines. Also, being a Vancouverite myself, I was especially happy when you got to the 2010 Olympics XD

Thank you so much! I'm glad that their history came through even though I didn't exactly show it.

I didn't know you were from Vancouver! So am I! (The burbs, but still!)

*Vancouverite fistbump*

And I'm not exactly in *Vancouver* Vancouver either. I just tell people that because most people only seem to know about Vancouver and Victoria :P

Haha, same here. It's much simpler to say Vancouver (hell, a lot of my Texas people don't know where Victoria or Vancouver Island is, either).

YAY THE SUNSHINE TODAY!!!! :D

Wow, I really liked this. Quiet, but emotionally resonant. So much history, but never intrusive. And I love how you've depicted the slow rebirth of their relationship.

Perfectly done. Bravo!

Oh, oh... ::clutches heart::.. the pacing, the quiet build and play of emotions. Just perfect.

Thank you, bb! I'm glad it worked for you - I was a bit worried that the short length wouldn't allow for feels, so I'm very happy to hear that wasn't the case! ;)

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a J2 story so much where they don't even kiss. :p I do enjoy fics that are snapshots like this, letting us use our imaginations to fill in the blanks. Nicely done!

I haven't read because I don't have time but if you even remotely implied that my beloved Canucks won the cup I am all over that.

Okay, I snuck this one in at work.

*LOVE* so much love. I have been scouring for really good J2 hockey fic and while I could do with a lot more views into this one, I loved it so. This is the first one I've found where the writer seems to actually understand the game.

And, also, thank you for not letting the US win the Olympics because... well, because. I'm such a Canadian cliche.

I'm glad you enjoyed the hockey bits! I grew up in Texas so I had very little exposure to the sport (on TV or IRL) until I met my husband in college - but I've lived in Vancouver for the last 10 years, so I've got a pretty good handle on it now. ;)

I would never have taken the gold medal away from Canada! LOL! It was such a great game, I wouldn't want to revise a minute of it. (I was the only USA fan in a roomful of Canadians, and it was TENSE when the US tied it up - I didn't even feel like I could cheer!)

Oh my. I can just imagine how that would have gone! We are a bit crazy when it comes to hockey. I talk to my TV every game and refer to the Canucks as 'my boys'. I really want to write a fic with the current goalie situation as the premise. Maybe someday when it is resolved :)

Anyway, once again, I really loved this and will revisit it often. Especially when my boys play Dallas and can't get their shit together.
