Reaffirmation that no matter where you are - people are stupid. The heck is wrong with your degree, anyway? You can get a job anywhere with that degree. It's worlds more useful than poli science or English (especially if you're not planning on teaching).

No, it's not so much the fact that I'm studying Electrical Engineering. The guy was telling me that it was a mistake to stay in school and just get a Masters straight after. He told me instead, in a very grave tone, that I should have gotten an internship sometime in the last year and a half, or gotten one for this summer (at the time he was telling me this it was already too late for that-- and he knew that), then gotten hired at a company and let them pay for my graduate work
