Bermuda V.S. Hurricane Florence

Sep 08, 2006 16:19

This time tomorrow Bermuda will be going 1 on 1 with hurricane Florence...swell. I believe Florence isn't a major threat at the moment, then again...its 4 miles wide. I'm not too concerned, Bermuda homes are VERY strong. In fact we do pretty well against level three hurricanes; it's just that we lose endless amounts of trees. I'll never forget when ( Read more... )

I understand the tv thing. I haven't watched propper tv in almost 4 years. I am not interested really. Mine is more of a religious outlook. I don't read the news or listen to it or watch it. I have so many other things to do than just sit infront of a tv. I can't sit still infront of it for long either.

I am having a hard time to go to the movies lately too. I just can't get myself to do it. Especially when you are a whole group of friends. I'd much rather talk to my friends or play some game with them than have us all sit next to each other and stare at a screen. You should rather spend time together.

I keep on telling myself I will go to to movies again when I have a special guy in my life. ;) Who knows?

I am glad I don't have to go through hurricanes. My thoughts will be with you. Truelly hope you survive it. Otherwise I will miss your lj LOTS! So you better come out there ALIVE! :D

Wow 4 years? That's pretty long as well. You're good, I'm not sure if I could handle that, lol. I'm assuming its hard at first but you get use to it as time goes on. Heh...at least nobody can call you "restless." If you only knew how many of my friends keep calling me and complaining about how bored they are. There is always something that keeps me entertained. Even if I read, there's just so much you can do. And don't worry...you aren't the only person who is searching for that "somebody." In due time...I'm sure of it. ;)

Thanks for your concern. I'm going through the storm right now,and so far so good. I wish I can say the same for a few roofs elsewhere on the island. I think I'll be able to survive this one just fine. As long as I don't go outside and be a hero or something. :P

Thanks again for your awesome comment. ;)

Lo,

It was not hard to leave the TV, I wanted to leave it, but I see it now and again, but some weeks not at all and I don't go sit infront out of my own or sit for hours. I will talk to my mom in the TV room. And I leave whenever I feel like, usually I would sit untill all is done.

Aww I am gonna miss your other LJ layout!

I am 'restless' at work. :p

Ouch. Hurricanes are bad.
Well, I wish you luck my friend. Don't get too wet!

And you should consider yourself very lucky that you don't get depressed. I'm so moody, I have trouble understanding myself sometimes!
That's an interesting idea about the TV though. Maybe I should lay off the vampire movies for a while, ne?

Stay cool.

Yeah tell me about it. Even though they get you out of class for a few days, the days off don't really mean anything when you have to start cleaning up and whatnot, lol. Although I must admit climbing over the downed trees, it feels so adventurous! I'm lame, I know...lol.

Heh, yeah maybe I am lucky. What I try to do is not to worry about things that are out of my control. Although I must admit I get very stressed when it comes to math and when teacher gives us assignments that were barely explained, but I digress. Anyway, you are a great guy! You're funny, have lots of friends...I think you'll get over the depression you sometimes get in no time. You'll be surprised how life can be when you look on the brightside at times. ;)

Thanks for the comment my friend. It means allot. And I shall take care. ;)

hey! Hope you're ok after the hurricane.

I understand the TV thing too. TV is all trashy!!! I cant count the amount of times I've flicked through cable and though "Christ, with all these hundreds of channels how come all that's on is total shit?"

Hey there...all is well, so far. The wind is a bit freaky...and the rain is pounding like crazy! But I can take it. I'm just glad it's not a strong storm. Let me just keep my mouth shut, knowing my luck it'll get all powerful, lol. :P

TV isn't what it use too be. All the good shows are like gone. But maybe we'll somehow grow out of the habit of watching TV. One can only hope.

Yeah, I feel your pain. Thankfully there's a front over Florida or I'll be next. Ernesto wasn't so bad though, but I surely remember when we got hit with 3 in Orlando/Central Florida within a span of 2 and a half weeks back in 2004.

Hey, the next one that comes that is actually a hurricane and its gonna hit the both of us, I'll raise a glass and hope for your safety and I hope you do the same for me.

In the meantime, *lifts up a glass* I'll hope for your safety now ^^;

Thank you so much for your concern...it feels so cool to have friends send their best wishes. Can't think of a better feeling. I'm glad Ernesto wasn't to bad. Come to think of it...this hurricane season has been quite calm, thank God. I'm currently going through the storm right now and I had to reply before my power goes out, lol. Everything is fine, thus far. Just lots of rain and wind.

Oh and thanks for raising a glass for me. *runs to get a glass full of water* Ok, now I'm ready.

*lifts up a glass* May we both have a safe hurricane season. Thanks again, friend. ;)

I hope you're okay! I've never been in a hurricane (well except for as a baby) as we hardly get them in the UK - but it must be scary! Take care.

Oh yeah, hurricanes can be a pain at times. I just try my best not to freak out...although it can be hard at times. But so far everything is going well. Everything should be over by Tuesday, or late Monday afternoon.

Oh and I added your best friend to my friends list. She sounds cool to me. ;)

And thanks for friending teamonater - she is a really cool person I know you will like her... and the best thing is that I have currently got her hooked on KH - I know FF will be next!! So perhaps in future she can be another debater for your comm ^^
