Recovery Time...

Jun 23, 2006 20:04

Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is I have the all of next week off from work. The bad news...I struck my head twice within he same hour, and I got more scratches on my arms, thanks to that damn iguana. I struck me head on a thick tree branch as I was standing up, after watching/guarding some bird in a cage. So yeah, that was ( Read more... )

Lol, I work at the Bermuda Aquarium. My department focuses on both marine and land creatures. So that's the kind of job I have, which is why I deal with an iguana. ;)

Ouch! Gosh, I think you need a thicker towl or something. :( That, or that particular iguana just plain hates you. Who cares what the iguana thinks, anyway. Actually, I think the creatures would lose a little more than just their pride. That seems more comparable to stealing their car keys or something.

Happy healing! I hope your head feels better and you don't end up with scars on your arms. That's great that you found a job that you love so much, too. ^_^ Just be sure to tell the new guy that that is NOT how an iguana handling is supposed to go. *hugs*

Tell me about it, a thicker towel should do the trick. I bought a thick beach towel, so I'm sure that will come in handy. At first, I thought it was a case were Stumpy didn't like me, but my boss said something like he was only trying to get comfortable in my arms. :P But like you said, who cares what the iguana thinks, lol. :)

Thanks for the good wishes. I hate to admit it, but it looks like I will have a few scars on my arms. Bummer, I know. Oh and don't worry, I told the new guy all about it. ;)

Laters.

I'm so sorry about this, but I had to laugh at the way you described hitting your head on the freezer. That just seems like soemthing that would happen in a comedy flick - still kinda funny. Aside from me being an unfeeling ass, I hope you enjoy your time off. Really. And good luck at the doctors!

I've heard that iguanas are mean buttwipes. Do you have many of them, or just the one?

I would love to have your job.

Lol, it's ok that you laughed; it just tells me that my entries aren't boring. But I have to admit that I laughed too when I read through this entry again, it is quite funny. The doctor visit went just fine, so I should be up and about in a week or two. Well, my cuts anyway, my head is all better. :D

Actually, iguanas aren't native to Bermuda. We just have just this one. Apparently this one got transported in a vegetable container on its way to Bermuda when it was young.

My job is cool. I'm sure there is one like it around your way, I hope. :)

Sorry, I also had to laugh because it just sounds so silly the way you described it ^^ But really, I hope you aren't seriously hurt or anything, as you said you aren't. That would really suck, especially if it was from just hitting your head on the freezer!

Yeah, I have an Iguana grudge myself actually...since when I was younger, one time my sister, my mom, and I went to a pet store and one of them leapt out of the open cage onto my sisters fac. It almost scratched her in the eye. My mom has never forgiven Iguanas, and I'm actually a little afraid of them..^^;

Lol, I find it awesome how so many got a kick out of my entry. I'm just glad to know that it wasn't boring or anything, lol. Yeah, my head it all better. That's what I was most concerned about. Now it's just a matter of my arm healing up. :)

Wow, that sounds like a very scary experience. I don't blame you for having a grudge after that. At least your sister is ok. :)

I couldn't laugh *sigh*, because that ironic kind of thing happens to me alllll the time. Sometimes I think life IS a comedy flick, at our expense..

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully the ironic events will lessen over the years. But at least you didn't laugh at me, lol. ;)
