Recovery Time...

Well I have good news and bad news. The good news is I have the all of next week off from work. The bad news...I struck my head twice within he same hour, and I got more scratches on my arms, thanks to that damn iguana. I struck me head on a thick tree branch as I was standing up, after watching/guarding some bird in a cage. So yeah, that was pretty much my fault, all though I didn't appreciate the laughter I got from my partner. If I wasn't hurt, I would have told him off or something. :P So then I make my way to the fridge for some ice. Before I opened the freezer door, my other partner dropped something, and he asked me to get it for him. So I bent down to get the papers he dropped. As I was on the ground, my OTHER partner opened the freezer door, without me knowing. The phone rings, he runs off to answer it, without closing the door. After retrieving the papers, I rose to my feet, only to hit my head HARD yet again!!! So yeah, it really wasn't my day. Despite his ignorance, I said nothing, and just iced my head.

Later that day, I had to teach a new staff member how to deal with the iguana. Despite my long sleeved shirt, and towel I used to grab the iguana, I still received some serious scratches on my arms. I’m just glad he didn’t knick my face, and then I would be really upset. I know what you guys are thinking, "why don't you just clip his nails?" Well unlike cats, who don't really need their nails as much as iguanas, because iguanas spend their entire lives climbing! Take away their nails; it's almost like killing their pride. So I'll just have to think of a new way to approach the situation while I spend the next few days at the hospital, recovering.

Nevertheless, I love my job very much. You get to learn so much about the animals around the world, meet to new friends, and go out for lunch every now and again. This beats staying home all day, that's for sure. I guess I love this new life of mine, seeing as how I was such a protected child during my childhood, so making even more friends and getting hurt is all in a days work. I’m sure it's nothing to serious, but my parents are a bit concerned, so I'm on my way to the doctors. You'll hear from me soon...I promise.

I'll be thinking of you all.

Until next time...
