Orwell Called It

A buddy of mine had the best quote about the countless fandom wank and anon sites. "They used to be so much better as funny drama comms, not SOCIAL JUSTICE CENTRAL."

By the way, if you're the type of person who's constantly whining about how delicate and preshus you are and how you need to be handled like a glass menagerie and yet you're an active ( Read more... )

Are you getting emails because of the fanficrants post made about you? At first I was upset like everyone else, but when your name came up I gave the post some side-eye. The rant was posted the same day you posted How To Slash Better. Very suspicious.

Not that suspicious really. This is par for the course. A POC speaks out against racism/queerphobia/and or privilege and this type of bullying/harassment/silencing is pretty much typical.

Someone else told me that my name was brought up on Fanficrants. I haven't read it, nor do I plan to. Honestly I couldn't care less. Those douchebags are a non motherfucking factor.

Obviously I hit a privilege nerve hence the ass waving and the harassment. So when I talk about how queer males aren't welcomed in these spaces, and why it's a cesspool of heterosexism, they couldn't have proven my point better if they tried.

All these white folks lining up to play lynch the POC, let's keep it real. We know what this is really about. It's okay to demand equality and respect, as long as we know our place.

This is the genre. I expected no less - it happens every single time. The Slash and M/M genre is not interested in listening from gay men. We're objects, not people.

More than that, it's the illusion that they aren't hypocrites. That has to be preserved at all costs ( ... )

Well, I'm trying. And I appreciate your posts on this. I can't stand it when writers turn women into useless, helpless, or endlessly bitchy props; I don't want to do the same to gay men in my fiction.

"WHO THE FUCK ASKED YOU? WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT BEING A QUEER MALE?!!!!"

Oh, gee....um, could it be the fact that THE WRITER IS A GAY-ASS GAY MAN?! Who's gay?! A men that dates men, and is - did I forget to mention - GAY?!

*pants and wheezes* I swear, people kill me!

Ever finding yourself wanting to rubber-stamp OPPRESSION IS NOT A TRANSITIVE PROPERTY across a whole lot of foreheads?
