His hand brushed against the glass window of the cafe, originally to keep his balance. It seemed like he was having more than a little bit of difficulty keeping his steps level with the sidewalk. His other hand came up to swat at the constantly moving ground as a means to punish it, but it did nothing except get him a few cautionary glances from those that were around him. This might have been why he did not usually consume as much alcohol as he did in one single setting ( ... )

The difference between inconspicuousness and being completely unaware that the former was intentional. With the smashing of glass and the transparent object itself forming a spider-web design, Itachi glance over only to notice it was his brother. Someone whom Itachi had respected - back then, and even now -- even that was purely out of obligation. Even if they were not blood-related, even with Raiden intense loathing of Itachi himself, the Uchiha held no negativity towards the blonde ( ... )

"I don't need your damn coffee." Itachi was lucky that Raiden didn't just simply knock the cup down onto the floor, but something stopped him from doing so. His fingers dragged through his hair, digging them deep against his head. Nothing really got to him, did it? Not even after all the time that they were unable to see each other. Even then, nothing ever really got to him. Did Raiden even mean anything to him? Did their family? The hand drew away from his hair to rub his face. The irritation had returned to him, or was it an early hang-over. He wondered how he looked to Itachi at this moment. Or he would have if his thoughts were not far more primitive than that -- not even caring that he was trying to start a drunken fight with someone who always was able to beat him even as a child ( ... )

Ultimately, the refusal of the coffee was expected. The other took too much pride to accept simply hostility from his brother, who he deemed as nothing but an ungrateful brother -- and it was the unspoken words that was obvious in actions that Itachi did not deny. He would not set out to prove Raiden otherwise, it was too much effort, and there was no point. Not when his reputation that settled in Raiden’s mind was completely fixated on that opinion, and he only gazed at the rejected coffee cup before the drunk ramblings of the other emerged from his mouth with complete bitterness and loathing. Fingers were once again clasp, returning to his former posture as he thought over the words that were meant and made to convince and convert Itachi to believing that there were any forms of attachment.

-- There was. However subtle it was, however it was displayed as non-existent, his thoughts were his own. Of course when Raiden mentioned the candy that he had kept away for the sake of nostalgia, Itachi felt his limbs tense, and letting out a ( ... )
