To believe that Itachi had a chance to stand in-between the doppelgangers of his brothers and Madara’s absolute orders was none other than childish optimism, ( -- or maybe the simple fact that Itachi had given up, surrendered completely when it was Madara) he had no care for them. No forms of attachment, nor did he have the desire to interfere with either of them. Madara’s hands were greedy enough for all of them, and Itachi refused to be involved ( ... )

Sasuke didn't spare the person walking towards him a single glance. The other seemed perfectly content with keeping to themselves, and Sasuke had no intention of starting a friendly conversation. The man walking was oddly unfamiliar. Just from reading his movements along, he knew they weren't a regular (or at least a regular that he was used to), and as far as he knew, they weren't a member of Akatsuki. But to be in a hallway like the one they were in, he knew they had to be important ( ... )

Sasuke could believe what he would like -- but Itachi would not let himself be obligated to fuel Sasuke’s own personal petty vendetta. Instead when the other’s eyes had flashed a dangerous red, Itachi barely glanced over his shoulder in a condescending manner before he continued to walk down the long hallway. Even with the threat of electricity that could fry his nerves had emitted from the other, Itachi only dodged the ability as though it was nothing but a child’s toy that was tossed in a tantrum, and the older Uchiha was not about to indulge the other in pathetic thoughts of revenge ( ... )
