Nill was naïve to a lot of things, but she wasn’t a total idiot. If Itachi was going to search for Kazama again today-Nill seriously doubted that he wouldn’t. it didn’t seem like Itachi would even stop.-then he’d make sure to leave before anyone was awake to stop him, to be concerned and ask him to stay and try to convince him that Kazama wasn’t coming back. (Shikamaru would say that to him, she thought. Maybe Yosuke would agree.) So, if she wanted to tag along-it certainly wouldn’t be helping, because she never seemed to be of proper help in those kinds of situations-she’d have to be up before Itachi was ( ... )

Much to her own displeasure, Itachi noticed her as just peeked through the door. Of course Itachi would vocally state this if it wasn’t for the other occupants in the small apartment. He twisted his gaze to glance down the hallway, indirectly searching for the smaller figure before her lowered his head and reverted his eye color to that of a dull gray. The clothes that he wore were the same as the day before, plain black attire with no equipment that included weaponry.

What he usually used was still at Kazama’s own apartment for the time they both lived there after his own death and Kazama’s offer to stay with him due to the fiery collapse of the estate.

Itachi’s figure swayed slightly with overwhelming exhaustion as his fingers gripped on the doorknobs and he gave it a soundless turn, opening it and walking out. Still, he did not bother to close the door behind him considering the young girl’s own strong-will to wanting to follow him, and for herself to search for Kazama which could have been looked at as admirable, or just

It seemed as though hiding from people like Itachi wasn’t Nill’s strong suit-she’d have to get better at that, she decided, and filed the thought away for another time. Even though she had clearly been noticed, the winged girl didn’t step out from where she was, instead watching in silence as the Uchiha opened the front door and left; and for a fraction of a second, she hesitated, because Itachi looked so tired and worn out (so very gray and dark and deserted) that she knew her coming along would be nothing but a hindrance to him ( ... )

If Itachi did die, then he would accept it. It was not masochism that ran through his veins but the fact that Itachi would not allow himself to die again - not after having his eyes self-removed, not after having his innards pulled apart with a broken ribcage as organs collapsed on one another in a bloody display that almost seemed to pretty with Itachi as the placid canvas. Either way, Itachi knew of his limits, and despite himself looking worn down, looking so hollow and lifeless, that did not mean that he was careless enough to suffer the same punishment as he did before.

But as soon as the door closed with a barely-audible soft click, Itachi looked over his shoulder, his red hues gazing along the smallest figure before he continued to walk, almost in a dismissive manner before speaking with a volume that only both of them could hear, "If you are that persistent to join my search for Kazama, I suppose it would be too much to request for you not to follow ( ... )
