With the sound of his cell snapping closed, Hidan placed it back in his pocket and soothed his hair -- an irritated grunt emerged from his mouth as he sluggishly made his way to the area that was instructed as much to him. God, he really didn’t like Vargret, that old man was a fucking tight-ass and all that shit. Strict as hell and kicked him out of the fucking house! So what if the cop seemed like some sort of saint? Sure, he found Hidan in that shithole of Abyss and raised him. Heh, what a fucking good job he was at that. And now the cop had something to discuss with him about Deidara, the corpse that hanged so twisted on a goddamn antenna. Tch, if that shitbag had info about his dead friend, may as well go ( ... )

One of the only real downsides of habitually wearing sunglasses all the time was that it tended to make his night vision slightly shittier than would be optimal, and as a result, Vargret heard Hidan approaching before he saw him. Giving a low grunt of displeasure, he flicked away his cigarette, watching it hiss and fizzle away as Hidan drew into sight. God, this conversation wasn't going to be pretty -- anything dealing with his now-exiled sort-of-son had the tendency to turn ugly at an alarming rate, but this, in particular, would be a gross discussion ( ... )

Teeth were set to grind as Vargret started to bullshit about Deidara, and his goddamnn friend. Yeah, he was spiteful, more to Deidara actually dying than to the crap that spewed from the cop’s mouth. The joint in his mouth was soon wet with excess saliva and thus useless to inhale, so he spat it out before Vargret in disgust as arms settled against his chest and violent hues narrowed. So what if this guy was a cop? Hidan didn’t have any hesitation to break his face in - even hearing that shitty voice made Hidan’s blood boiled. Okay, Hidan just simply blamed Vargret for growing up the way he did -- as irrational and delusional it was. But that didn’t mean Hidan hated himself, right?

"Jeez old man --" Was the only words he could get in before Vargret started to mutter on about Yaha’s death. And instantly, Hidan’s lips grew into a large grin at the words. Fuck, fuck -- did that mean Shika actually, you know, fucking did it?! He tossed his head back and a deep eerily laughter emerged from the bottom of his stomach and up his throat, too ( ... )

The grind of teeth, the narrowing of eyes, the sharp path the cigarette butt drew from lips to ground, the end rapidly sizzling to a dark spot of ember -- all part of the show, wasn't it? And Vargret only watched with his brows furrowed in some vague display of contempt. Thinking, darkly, something along the lines of, I raised you, brat, you think I'll be intimidated by your little tough-guy show? You really don't even know me, do you.And even throughout Hidan's little laughing schpiel, Vargret only waited patiently, drumming fingers against the handlebars of his bike -- lips pressed into a grim slash, more out of personal irritation than out of anger towards the disrespect. Because this was clearly a two-sided problem -- once Yaha was alive once more, he'd have a lot to answer for, possibly ending in something highly unpleasant -- but for the moment, the insane little fucker (that he'd one considered 'having potential,' Jesus christ he'd been young and stupid back then) was first priority ( ... )
