It figures (week 1)

Jan 24, 2009 21:12

Biweekly sessions of figure drawing at work means that I get to take my new tablet PC out for a spin for realz! This model was really great but I sure wish he did some longer poses.

1 minute: Good poses make for good sketches.

5 minutes: 1 | 2

The 10-minute ones didn't turn out so good. Maybe next time.

Which kind did you get, and how do you like it?

My laptop has become dead, and I was planning to get a tablet for their cool cool Captain Kirk vibe. ;) Do you like how yours works?

Hey, you're alive! (unlike your laptop)

I have an HP Pavillion tx2000, which was cheaper than I thought tablet PCs would be. The good points are that it functions quite well, and it uses Wacom technology so the tablet is quite competent as you can see. Also, it's constructed and designed pretty intelligently. The downsides are that it gets really hot, especially when you're drawing on it; and that it's a bit heavy to carry around like Starfleet officers, although I don't know if other tablet PCs are any lighter.

Lemme know if you want to know anything else!

Certainly! Admittedly, weight is somewhat of an issue (my school pack now weighs an impressive nineteen pounds, I feel somewhat military with it on). Is it noisy? What's the actual weight on it (do you know?)

Do you have to use the pen, or does it come with a multitouch screen? Other such things. :D

And yes, I live... again. ;)
