Biweekly sessions of figure drawing at work means that I get to take my new tablet PC out for a spin for realz! This model was really great but I sure wish he did some longer poses.

Good poses make for good sketches. 5 minutes:

2 The 10-minute ones didn't turn out so good. Maybe next time.
My laptop has become dead, and I was planning to get a tablet for their cool cool Captain Kirk vibe. ;) Do you like how yours works?

I have an HP Pavillion tx2000, which was cheaper than I thought tablet PCs would be. The good points are that it functions quite well, and it uses Wacom technology so the tablet is quite competent as you can see. Also, it's constructed and designed pretty intelligently. The downsides are that it gets really hot, especially when you're drawing on it; and that it's a bit heavy to carry around like Starfleet officers, although I don't know if other tablet PCs are any lighter.
Lemme know if you want to know anything else!

Do you have to use the pen, or does it come with a multitouch screen? Other such things. :D
And yes, I live... again. ;)

The fan actually does get pretty noisy as it's trying to dissipate that heat; not too noisy for me since I'm not trying to be Solid Snake or anything but definitely noisier than the average laptop.
You can use the pen or your finger, though I never use my finger (smudges! D:) It's not multitouch; does any non-Apple things do that? And of course there's the standard laptop trackpad which I use most often.
Sooo I guess I would say that this thing works really well for my purposes, but as a laptop it could use a few improvements. You may want to look into whether HP's newer tablet models are any better about these things.

Good to know at least. I'll have to keep looking around, loud computers aren't exactly the best thing in the world for school.
