Apart from the three first years, the Slytherin table was empty.
Lovely portrait of post-war HP, everyone scarred, everything awkward and not magically becoming prefect and fixed. People being their usual flawed selves. Earnest, impulsive, naive Harry and sharp, bitter, suspicious Draco. They're so adorable. Lest I give the wrong impression, it's not made of fluff, there are complications, but it'll give you a warm glowy feeling by the end.

Really really love this fic. You know there's some fics that you just HAVE to rec, and you're pausing every few paragraphs to re-write your rec to try and make it as appealing and honest as possible. And by the end you just want to cut-paste the entire fic and be all LOOK JUST FUCKING READ IT, OKAY? This is such a fic.
I love the way this fic teams serious emotional hits with light banter. Cutting realisations with casual insults. That's a difficult balance to make, keeping the banter light, but the emotion strong, and this fic does it very well, and there's absolutely gorgeous UST. It takes some well known tropes, comfortable-in-his-sexuality Draco, Harry retreating from his fame, and a plot that's about people and miscommunication, not action (it's totally a rom-com, there's a rain scene and everything). But it does it all REALLY WELL. Everything feels fresh and believable.
Fuck. It’s nothing; it’s a nothing moment, but he looks so open and relaxed and genuinely interested to hear whatever mundane or bizarre excuse Draco has to offer him, and it’s just... right. And he wants. He wants so badly that he can’t think of a single word to say, even though Harry is staring at him now, green eyes narrowed, and if that’s concern on his face then Draco thinks he might cry.
“Draco?”
Dully, Draco wonders whether it’s possible that his voice has stopped working. And his brain.
“Oi, fuckface!” Harry shouts, waving a hand in his face, and he snaps out of his panic with a jolt, dragging great gulps of air into his lungs and holding tightly onto something in his hands-ah, his coat-and meeting Harry’s eyes with exaggerated composure.
THE GOOD WIFE
(fics by odinaith - in general, great prose, perfect tone for Alicia-centric fics: - seductive yet restrained, the surface is calm and perfect but underneath there's this wealth of passion. I'm very much in awe) [pitch perfect]
