Nah, I get that. Good thoughts from you count, too. Figure maybe now's the time to break out that last bottle of ramune I've been saving for no particular reason, and have a talk with the UnCousin.

This has "Learning Experience" written all over it, but...I'm just not sure who's supposed to be learning from this yet, Cat or I, and...if things get bad, if things get really bad with Cat finding a new job...then it's up to me, and I'm still back where I was the last time--a bit more self-confident, but I still have the beard and the weight and the wonky legs. I don't see a job for me falling into my lap, whether or not I apply for one.

Gah.

Wouldn't be a bad idea. And--thankfully, already paid for--we have a dozen new Teakwood/Cardamom votives coming from our favorite PartyLite dealer, so we can be a little lavish and light some of those. I get the feeling he likes spicy candles. :)

There's been this thing, since she took over the book department--and made it successful, and sold off all the non-moving back stock--that there's a theft problem at Bob's, and it could be Cat.

Reasoning behind this: all the special orders for books she's bought. See, their software tracks special orders coming in, but doesn't track special orders sold--special orders are charged--at the registers--as "Miscellaneous Store", not "Special Order". So they've got all these books seemingly coming in, and then vanishing.

Thing is, if they tracked even by how much is spent on Cat's account, and added up all the "Misc Store" lines, they'd have the purchase cost of every book she ordered!

This, of course, is paired with an increase of theft in the warehouse, where Cat never is anymore.

Beyond that, I don't know what happened. It could be the book thing, it could be...fuck, something else entirely. Gah.

If they're going to blame it on the books/book theft, then mayhaps there's some other issues at work besides that - unless they're not being that logical in the first place. :/ Anyone with some common sense would realize if Cat's never in a place where it's going on, that Gee, Maybe It's Someone Else...

Thanks.

And yeah--see next entry, it's definitely Something Else going on.

We just don't know what yet.

Bob axed Cat today.

So very sad to hear that... I thought things were going well.

and have a talk with the UnCousin.

The UnCousin? Oh gods. I think I missed something somewhere. Tension between you and she? Not good...

Hee. No--UnCousin Loki. See, he's not a blood relative, but when I asked him what I should call him, that's what he said. Well, he said I should call him "Cousin", so sometimes I do that, sometimes I use "UnCousin" and sometimes I just go with That Redheaded Bastard. :)

He seems to be tickled by all three, so yay for that.

There's no specific tension between the cousin and I, or even between La R and I. Of course, there's today to contend with, and the telling of the roommates. We'll see how that goes. That may well create new and fascinating tension.

Ahhhh. Aha. Oh, him. Heh

That may well create new and fascinating tension.

Hmm. Not the word I would have picked, but it does evoke images.

Well, I frequently use "fascinate" in the "snakelike" definition--that moment of staring stupidly into the eyes of a poisonous predator, right before it strikes.
