Bob axed Cat today.
No, I don't know why yet.
Yes, we're both upset about it.
Yes, I'm upset at Bob.
I don't know if she'll be able to explain why she got fired...but we have been hearing rumblings from that quarter for a few weeks now, and today, I found the most recent copy of her resume on the table. So I had a feeling.
And back to cleaning. Which I have now completely lost heart for.
Hey, if anyone's been wondering about accessing the Amazon wishlist and buying us foodstuphs? Now would be your time.
I keep reflecting back on something
ladyteal said earlier this year: "May your bones be bare, so that, come spring, you can rise again cleaner, newer, truer than you have ever been before."
Yeah, okay. I'll work on that.

Tipped my way by
aelora, a while back. I just felt like posting it again. And I changed my icons, so this is the new version. And I may have to add in my stabbity icon once more.
Also, if anyone has these songs in .mp3 or .wma format:
"You Oughta Know" from Alanis Morissette
"Try A Little Tenderness" from Andrew Strong
"I'll Make a Man Out of You" from the Mulan soundtrack
"Hey Pretty" and "Hello" from Poe
"Losing My Religion" from R.E.M.
"Christmas Eve, Sarajevo" from the TransSiberian Orchestra
and/or "Nymphetamine" from Cradle of Filth...
let me know? I'm not asking for all of them, but one or two would be cool.
The rest of these are mainly recycled quotage to fill space. And to remind me of some things.
shadowcaptain quoth:
"needless to say, your peer group (at least the part that's synonymous with mine) is pretty much made up of Con People. [it's kind of like being carny. you can try to shed the imprinting all you want, but eventually there will come a reckoning, be it clandestinely spending hundreds on quarters to play the simpsons video game just so you can hit krusty the clown a few more times with a hammer, or simply retaining a closet weakness for animal crackers.]
in other words, people who have read more than their fair share of books growing up, but, statistically speaking, people who got to less than their fair share of parties as a result. and whose social circles tend to be somewhat *cough*inbred*cough*, shall we say, self-correcting. hence, the second- and third-generation geeks, otherwise known as the BSCWCB ("baby strollers covered with calligraphic buttons").
the big social loophole, which has bailed out more people that come to mind than i would care to mention in a public forum, is the Bed-Swapping Rationalization Natural 20, otherwise known as the Let's Have An Open Relationship Dice Roll Of Khazad-Dum. but, again, generally speaking, weaving stable relationships out of that kind of psychosexual egyptian rat screw takes a quantity of mental gymnastics that itself almost requires falling on the High LQ scale to begin with. for anyone else, that way lies spooky carnival death."
rainweaver13 said this: "Damn straight. I defy normal. I fly in the face of normal. I... I... fall in the pudding of normal. Often."
And:
"Be plural like the universe!"
seems to be a grand rallying cry. Fernando Pessoa said it first.
Finally:
I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to wash over me and through me,
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
(Frank Herbert, Dune)
Yeah. Okay. Going back to cleaning now. Will check in later. And all that.
