Would I prefer if Holmes was also a lady? Yes. (would I haved loved it if said lady was Indira Varma? alsfjalsdjf sdf yes) Would I prefer if Lucy Liu was Holmes and the other dude from Trainspotting was Watson? Yes, mostly because Watson will always be Holmes' minder

It's true! Too bad that the show probably eon't be that good. It's another modern adaptation (that conviniently shows up after Sherlock got popular), set in New York and made by US tv, so...yeah. Jonny Lee Miller will be Holmes, who ironically was in Frankenstein with Benedict Cumberbatch.

I'd really like it if Holmes was a lady as well, but ah well. I guess I'll have to watch for lady Watson now!

Am especially amused how a fandom overwhelmingly obsessed with Holmes/Watson love story has decided romance is cheap/cliche/would ruin everything. Goodness knows slash fic is never cliched. Romance is only valid when it's non-canon boy/boy.

Threy could at least be consistent - either frienship is always too sublime to sully with sex (which, wat), or Holmes/Watson is always hot. I'd be ok with Liu!Watson getting her own Mark Morstan (or Mary! That'd be win), but I personally like thinking that ALL the Holmes and ALL the watsons are going at it in between chases, lol.

yup I have worries about the writing but this news made me suddenly interested in a show I didn't care much about before. Lucy Liu's currently playing a cop in a great dynamic yet platonic work partnership in Southland so I have faith in her work, if not the writers yet.
