I'm fat. I'm aware that I'm fat, and I don't try to hide it. I don't see it as anything shameful, it's just a fact of my existence.

I hear you. I am not even officially fat, only overweight, but for everything, from the fibromyalgia symptoms to the damaged disk in my back, there is exactly one remedy apparently. Losing weight..... truly the one nail everybody sees!

It's so incredibly infuriating. This is what a fat-shamed culture creates, an inability to see the forest for the trees, an inability to see a person instead of the fat. Oh no, there's fat here, better get rid of it. I like how you wrote this, with all the doctors you speak to, ending with the physical therapist who is the only one who sounds like they're addressing your actual needs, and not some abstract anti-fat idea. I get so angry that people don't receive proper medical care, only dismissal. Absolutely infuriating.
